Season 4 of Qatar’s popular annual horse-riding competition series started in fine style as experienced show jumper Mohammed Saeed Haidan stamped his mark on the 1st competition of the new season of Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund.

Haidan clinched two individual titles and Team top honors during Tour 1, held on October 9 and 10 at Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) Indoor Arena..

Haidan won the Medium Tour title on Miss Chili on the first day, and also saw his team, Limited Edition Cars, triumph in the Team competition, before ending the weekend on a high note by claiming a Big Tour victory astride Carport in the showpiece event of the second day.

His win in the 130/145 Big Tour two-phase competition was achieved with a time of 42.98 seconds. Hamad Ali Al Attiyah, riding Aslan 69, finished second, while Nasser Al Ghazali, on Quel Homme, took the third and final spot on the podium.

Earlier, Saeed Nasser Al Qadi won the 115/125 Open Class category in a time of 53.85 seconds, riding Best Of Des Forets to victory. Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi finished in second place on Bleu Boy, with Cyrine Cherif in third on Brennus Villelongue.

Bader Al Darwish, Organizing Committee Member, Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund, awarded the Open Class winners.

In the opening event of the second day, Eqab Mohammed Al Rashid on Friedrichshof won the Future Riders Optimum Time 80cm category. Abdulaziz Khalid Al Bukhari finished second astride News Boy, while Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani took third on Animo’s Boy Van De Dennehoeve.

This was followed by the Future Riders 90cm category, which saw Hamad Adel Al Saegh triumph. He claimed first place on Ballymacar Custard, with Kian Monti finishing second on CJ Baba Van De Roshoeve, and Majed Abdulrahman Al Awadh ending third on Wadi Rum D D H.

On Day 1 of the opening Tour, Season 4 action had kicked off with a bang with Mohamed Saeed Haidan’s victory in the Medium Tour category in a time of 32.88 seconds, setting the stage for his triumphant weekend. He triumphed over Nasser Al Ghazali, who finished second on What A Pleasure, and Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi, who ended third on Eglantine du Castelet.

In the Teams category, Limited Edition Cars, comprising Mohamed Saeed Haidan on Miss Chili and Alqaqa Al Nassar on Verona, won first place.

Abdulla Al Merri, Sports Coordinator, Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund, awarded the Medium Tour and Team category winners.

In Small Tour action, Khalifa Abdulla Al Khaldi won top spot on Dusty, in a time of 29.09 seconds. Mohammed Al Ghazali, finished second astride Naville Z, and Saeed Nasser Al Qadi ended third on Best Of Des Forets.

Ghanim Essa Al Rumaihi, Head of Public Relations, The Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), awarded the Small Tour category winners.

Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund is organized and hosted jointly by QEF and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation. It comprises individual and team competitions over 12 legs, from October 2020 to March 2021.

For the health and safety of equestrian fans, and in line with national COVID-19 precautionary measures, spectators were not allowed in the arena. However, fans were able to follow the thrilling action live on Al Kass TV.
