RIDERS DISPLAY ACTION AND SPEED DURING LONGINES HATHAB - QATAR EQUESTRIAN TOUR 5

Doha, Jan 5 – The first Tour of the annual Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour, Season 3, for the year 2020, which took place at Al Shaqab’s Main Outdoor Arena, began on an exciting note with some riders claiming double victory. Tour 5 witnessed Kamil Sabitov guiding Quintendro to victory in the Big Tour - Table A, One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 (130/145cm), clocking a time of 71.16 seconds with zero penalty. The duo also topped the scores in the Medium Tour, Accumulator with Joker category on the first day of the event.

Saeed Nasser Al Qadi riding Daydreamer EC cleared his obstacles faultlessly in 72.56 seconds to claim second prize, while Nasser Al Ghazali On Quel Homme finished third in 73.10 seconds.

The podium finishers were awarded by Organizing Committee Member, Longines Hathab, Bader Al Darwish; Sport Coordinator Longines Hathab, Abdullah Al Merri; and Head of Media at the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF), Hamad Al Azaba.

In the Open Class | Table A, Two phases, Art. 274.1.5.3 (110/115 cm), Nasser Faisal Al Zahem astride Femke EC, sealed the first spot clocking 36.62 seconds and 27.48 seconds respectively. It was now Saeed Nasser Al Qadi’s turn to claim double victory; riding Best of Des Forets, Al Qadi followed up on his engaging performance of the Big Tour, once again finishing second in 43.36 seconds and 28.12 seconds respectively. Alqaqa Adel Nassar on Dubaii took third place in 41.46 seconds and 28.73 seconds respectively. The prizewinners delivered faultless performances.

Dean of Riders, Rashid Al Ameri awarded the winner and runners up.

Mutlaq Ali Al Hajri riding Super Girl claimed the winner’s spot in a time of 42.65 seconds, in the Future Riders, Table A, One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 (85/100 cm) class. Saoud Abdulla Al Kubaisi astride Selest finished second in a time of 45.71 seconds, while Lolwa Ali Atat riding Animo's Boy Van De Dennehoeve emerged third clocking 46.96 seconds. Once again the performances were faultless.

In the Future Riders competition - Table A, One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 (70/85 cm) Fahad Abdulkarim Abed on Kashmir took a clear lead in 30.58 seconds. Abdulhadi Salah Alyafei rode Friedrichsh of Dark Dream to finish second in 38.03 seconds, while Haya Khalid Al Hitmi on Sita took third with a time of 39.08 seconds. Once again faultless performances were delivered.

Event Director, Longines Hathab, Ali Al Rumaihi gave away the prizes to the medalists among the Future Riders.

On day one of Tour 5, Kamil Sabitov astride Quintendro took the lead in the Medium Tour, Accumulator with Joker category. The duo finished in 47.90 seconds. Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi riding Numero Uno - T came a close second with a time of 48.96 seconds and Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi on Jazz De Semilly K Z (Dupli) finished third in 49.86 seconds.

In the Medium Tour team event, The Top secured top honours. Team members Mohammad Hazim Abara on Ambre De Beaufour, Hussain Saeed Haidan on Belluci Van ‘T Vleminkhof, and Faleh Suwead Al Ajami on Quick Step, produced a collective time of 104.59 seconds to claim victory. Al Salam took second place, and Al Shaqab finishing third.

The prizewinners of the Medium Tour individual and team event were awarded by Board member of QEF, Sheikh Mohamad bin Nasser Al Thani.

In the Small Tour, Table A, One round against the clock with jump off, Ali Mohammed Al Qadi riding Charming Boy emerged the winner in a time of 69.31 seconds and 0 faults before completing jump off in 28.72 seconds. Hamad Nasser Al Qadi on Hugo Z took second place in 62.78 seconds, also with 0 faults, with a jump off time of 28.97 seconds while Saad Ahmed Al Saad on Fito R took the third spot in 70.51 seconds, with no faults and a jump off time of 29.26 seconds.

Prizes were awarded by the Manager, Al Shaqab Endurance Team Jassim M. Al-Maadhadi.

Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour which underpins Qatar’s continuous efforts to train and nurture future generations of riders is organized and hosted jointly by QEF and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation.

Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the series, which is open to Qataris and residents of Qatar.
