HAMAD NASSER AL QADI CROWNED BIG TOUR CHAMPION AFTER THRILLING LONGINES HATHAB – QATAR EQUESTRIAN TOUR SEASON 3 FINALE

A season filled with drama and excitement ended in triumph for Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, with the talented rider clinching the overall Big Tour title in

Tour 12, held from August 27-29 at Qatar Equestrian Federation Indoor Arena, heralded the Season 3 finale of the popular annual horse-riding competition series, culminating in the thrilling Big Tour finish on the final day. While equestrian fans might not have been able to be present in the arena, due to COVID-19 health guidelines, they were able to enjoy the spectacular showjumping action live on Al Kass TV.

Al Qadi, riding S I E C Lonnie, claimed overall top honours (184 points) despite finishing only third in Tour 12 with a first-round time of 57.86 seconds. Victory on the day went to Nasser Al Ghazali on Quel Homme, with a jump off time of 31.64 seconds. Salman Mohammed Al Emadi, riding Toymaker, finished second on the night as well as in the overall standings (179 points), after a jump off time of 32.45 seconds. Faleh Suwead Al Ajami ended fourth, on Carport, which was enough to see him placed third in the overall points standings (178 points).

The overall Medium Tour title was won by Mohamed Khalifa Albaker (193 points), after he finished second on Verona on the final day of competition. Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi, riding Jazz De Semilly KZ (Dupli) claimed first place ahead of Albaker on the day (187 points), but had to settle for second spot in the overall standings. Mohammed Saeed Haidan, on Miss Chilli, finished out of the podium places in fourth, but that was still enough to see him clinch third place in the overall Medium Tour standings with 184 points.

In the Small Tour Category, Mohammed Al Ghazali (191 points) won the overall title, despite finishing second on the day on Dino BB Z, behind Maryam Ahmad Al Boinin on Vol De Nuit Tardonne. Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi, riding Vlacido, took the final podium finish in Tour 12 Medium Tour action.

Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi (187 points) and Mohammed Saeed Haidan (184) points, finished second and third in the overall standings, behind Mohammed Al Ghazali.

In the Teams category, The Top claimed overall honours (195 points), ahead of Lusail (187 points), and ExxonMobil (186 points).

Jessica Waldon emerged victorious in the overall Dressage Level 1 competition, while Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi took top spot in Dressage Level 2.

Fahd Abdulkarim, meanwhile, was crowned overall champion in the Future Riders category.

Both Dressage and Future Riders standings were decided by the results as they stood when Season 3 was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, as the categories did not continue when Longines Hathab action resumed in line with the phased lifting of restrictions by the government.

Category winners were awarded by Organizing Committee Member Longines Hathab, Badr Al Darwish; Saleh Al Mana, Vice President ExxobMobil Qatar; and AbdulSalam Abu-Issa, Chief Executive Officer Salam International.

The Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour is organized and hosted jointly by QEF and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation.

Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the series, which is open to Qataris and residents of Qatar.
