EXCITING PERFORMANCES DELIVERED IN TOUR 2 OF QATAR EQUESTRIAN TOUR – LONGINES HATHAB SUPPORTED BY THE SOCIAL & SPORT CONTRIBUTION FUND

Tour 2 of the new season of Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund served up a treat of spectacular showjumping.

The second competition of Season 4 of Qatar’s premier local horse-riding series took place over two days, on October 23 and 24, at Qatar Equestrian Federation Indoor Arena.

 

Day 1 

Salman Mohammed Al Emadi clinched the Medium Tour honors, riding Zorro Z to a jump-off victory in the 130cm class, in a winning time of 25.88 seconds. Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, finished second in 27.76 seconds, astride S I E C Lonnie, while Rashid Towaim Al Marri ended third on Lamm Addiction Z, in 28.45 seconds.

In the Medium Tour Team category, Business Trading Company claimed the top spot on the winner’s podium, with Qatar Equestrian Federation taking second place, and QAF third.

Ali Al Rumaihi, Event Director, Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund, awarded the Medium Tour winners in both the individual and team categories.

Earlier in the day, Small Tour action kicked off proceedings, with Khalid Abdulla Al Khaldi winning the category for the second week in a row. He followed his Small Tour victory in Tour 1 with another resounding triumph in the same class, riding Dusty to a winning jump-off time of 27.78 seconds. Hussain Saaed Haidan, astride Kannada, finished second in 28.09 seconds, while Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi, took third on Vlacido, in 28.36 seconds.

Day 2

The showpiece event of the second day of Tour 2 – The Big Tour 140cm class – was convincingly won by Hamad Ali Al Attiyah astride Aslan 69, in a faultless jump-off time of 28.90 seconds. Saeed Nasser Al Qadi finished second on Andreas SPB Z, in 31.32 seconds. Nasser Al Ghazali took the final spot on the podium, riding Quel Homme to third place in 27.38 seconds. They had registered the fastest time, but a four-second penalty pushed them into third.

Ahmed Salem Al Ali, Programs Manager, The Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), awarded the Big Tour category winners.

The Open Class category, meanwhile, was won by Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi. A delighted Al Qadi rode Happy Tina to victory in 52.65 seconds. Hussain Saeed Haidan and Kananda took second spot in 53.31 seconds, to go with their same placing in the Small Tour on the first day. Nasser Al Ghazali finished third on Hurry Up, in a time of 53.77 seconds.

Abdullah Al Marri, Manager of Future Riders Riding School - Qatar Equestrian Federation, awarded the Open Class category winners.

For the health and safety of equestrian fans, and in line with national COVID-19 precautionary measures, spectators were not allowed in the arena. However, fans were able to follow the thrilling action live on Al Kass TV.

The Tour 2 Dressage competition is scheduled to take place on October 31, at QEF Indoor Arena.

Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund is organized and hosted jointly by QEF and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation. It comprises individual and team competitions over 12 legs, from October 2020 to March 2021.

Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the Qatar Equestrian Tour, which is supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam).
