AL RUMAIHI CLINCHES BIG TOUR TITLE AFTER FAULTLESS PERFORMANCE AT TOUR 7

Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi emerged top of the Big Tour class after an exciting weekend of action in Tour 7 of the annual Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour, which took place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab.

Riding Casal Des Forets, Al Rumaihi’s times of 35.81 (first round) and 44.02 (second round) were not the quickest of the class, but he didn’t produce any penalty faults, which counted in his favor.

Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi finished second on Fiji, after being penalized four seconds, while Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi on Sydney claimed the final place on the podium, also enduring a four-second fault.

Organizing Committee Member Longines Hathab, Badr Al Darwish, awarded the Big Tour winners.

In the Open Class, Abdullah Ali Al Ajeil emerged victorious astride La Corona 10. Second place went to Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi (Ferrari P.H.), while Sheikha Fatima Jabor Al Thani (Eddie) finished third.

Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, Manager of the Al Shaqab Breeding & Show Department, awarded the Open Class winners.

In the Future Riders 85cm class, Ahmed Jassim Al Suwaidi earned first place with a time of 64.74 seconds on Kantje’s Estefana. Haya Khalid Al Hitmi finished second on Sita, in 64.43 seconds, while Jassim Adel Al Saegh, riding Joly’s Arno, ended third in 64.05 seconds.

In the Future Riders 100cm class Hussain Ibrahim Shamiyeh won in 64.85 seconds on Zenit 35. Hamyan Khalifa Al Kowari, astride Outline De Beaufour, took second spot in 65.35 seconds, with Lolwa Ali Atat riding Animo’s Boy Van De Dennehoeve to third place in a time of 64.50 seconds.

Event Director Longines Hathab, Ali Al Rumaihi, awarded the winners in the Future Riders class.

Day one performances had produced an exciting start to the Tour 7 action. Hamad Nasser Al Qadi rode Gibria-B to a flawless victory in the Medium Tour category in a time of 32.82 seconds. Kamil Sabitov finished second on Carmen in 35.05 seconds, while Awad Alqahtani rode Bellini D’Argonne to third place in 35.42 seconds.

The Medium Tour team event saw ExxonMobil secure top honours in a nailbiting fight for first place. Comprising riders Saeed Nasser Al Qadi on Best of Des Forets, Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi on Fiji, and Jaber Rashid Al Amri on Canavaro De Muse (E.T.), ExxonMobil clinched a narrow victory with a time of 74.07 seconds. The Al Kass team of Mohammed Al Ghazali (Dino BB Z), Mohammed Khalifa AlBaker (Verona), and Nasser Al Ghazali (Hurry Up) finished just two seconds behind, to take the runner-up spot. Third place went to The Top team of Mohammad Hazim Abara (Ambre De Beaufour), Faleh Suwead Al Ajami (Quick Step), and Hussain Saeed Haidan (Belucci Van ‘T Vleminkhof), in a time of 73.22 seconds.

The Medium Tour individual and team winners were awarded by Organizing Committee Member Longines Hathab, Badr Al Darwish.

In the Small Tour, Mohammed Al Ghazali earned first place on Alegro 84, in a winning time of 54.98 seconds. Abdulaziz Ghanim Al Nuaimi, on BirddyZ, took second in 57.03 seconds, with Abdushukur Sobirjonov riding Kapitel to third spot in 57.94 seconds.

The Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour is organized and hosted jointly by QEF and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation.

Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the series, which is open to Qataris and residents of Qatar.

Tour 8 will take place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, from 28-29 February.
